Cedar Key Dolphin Project is a non-profit business researching feeding behaviors and population ecology unique to their resident population of bottlenose dolphins, advance marine conservation, and provide education to low-income local communities and at-risk youth. Their mission is to safeguard the balance of the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem by preserving and protecting the dolphins of Cedar Key and the surrounding Nature Coast of Florida, thereby, striving for a sustainable future for marine life and coastal communities. They operate on a tight budget with 100% volunteer-based workers. This grant will go towards purchasing bulk supplies and maintaining specialty equipment like drones and hydrophones to gain a unique perspective of the dolphin conservatory.
